Toubkal Treks are organized by Atlas Trek Experience. We offer a three-day Toubkal climb from Marrakech, beginning at 8 a.m. from your hotel and traveling south via gorges and high passes of the upper valleys to the Berber village of Imlil, which is positioned 5700 feet above sea level (1740m). You park your vehicle here and are greeted with a drink of mint tea at a staging house before continuing on a 2.5-mile (4-kilometer) tour to several Berber communities. You will stop for sightseeing in Armed and Sidi Chamharouchin villages in the Assif Ait Maizane Valley. The latter is adjacent to a beautiful waterfall and a little creek. Take a picnic in the shadow of the mighty Jbel Toubkal. At nearly 13,600 feet, it is the Maghreb’s highest peak (4167m). Enjoy a picnic in the shade of the colossal Jbel Toubkal. It is the Maghreb’s tallest mountain, towering at over 13,600 feet (4167m). The final section of the day leads you to the Toubkal base camp at an elevation of 10,500 feet (3207m).
Begin the day with a walk to the summit of Mt Toubkal, North Africa’s highest peak, and then descend through the south circuit for a straightforward 2-3 hour descent down to the base camp. In the afternoon, make an easy ascent southeast to the head of the Assif Ait Maizane Valley and Tizi n O’unoums. When you are completed, you will return to your Toubkal base camp overnight hotel.
Today you will climb Mt Toubkal once more, then return to camp for lunch before descending back down to Imlil for the pick-up and return to Marrakech. We appreciate your interest in joining us on a three-day trek to Toubkal from Marrakech with an established travel group. At the conclusion of the journey, we will transport you to your hotel in Imlil, Marrakech, or to the airport, bringing our Morocco Atlas climb to a close.
