ITINERARY FOR BERBER VILLAGES AND ATLAS VALLEYS TREK BY BERBER GUIDE 6 DAYS

DAY 1: MARRAKECH - IMI-OUGHLAD - IMSKER - GLIZ

Pick up from Marrakech and travel 50 kilometers to Imi-oughlad, where we will meet our team of mules carriers and cooks. After loading the mules, we will head towards the valley Imenane, gradually ascending over Tizi n Lbour and down into Imeskar hamlet for lunch. After lunch, we proceed through the little valley in the shadow of numerous massive walnut trees, an easy climb without technical problems into hamlet Tinghar, and then continue climbing into Tidili night and the small village of Gliz.

DAY 2: GLIZ - OUKAIMEDEN - TIZI N ADDI - TACHDIRTH

A short ascent to cross Tizi-n-Oukaimden through juniper woodland, a spectacular view over the river Ousrtik and distant peaks of the mass Toubkal, and then by passing the Okaimden 3700m. Lunch is served immediately after the station Ski, North Africa's highest. And by the collar Eddi joins the lovely High Atlas Valley Tachddirt for a spectacular view of the mountains and valley and an easy descent back to our community at night lodging Tachdirth.

DAY 3: TACHDIRTH - IKKIS - TIZI N’AGUERSIWAL - AGUERSIWAL - MATAT

After breakfast, we begin our descent down the assif imnane valley, passing through various Berber villages and ascending to the tizi n'ageursiwal (2000m). Once across the col, we will descend more winding mule trails to the settlement of Aguersiwal (lunch stop). From here, we will continue up the valley of Matat, allowing another hour to reach Matat.

DAY 4: MATAT - TIZI OUDITE - AZIB N TAMSOULT

From Matat, the six-hour trek out of the Matat Valley and into the Azzadene Valley begins. You will pass Tizi Oudite at 2,250m, Ait Aissa Village, Tizi oussm Village, and Azib n'Tansoult along the route. In 2300m, spend the night at the Azib n Tamsoult mountain shelter. DAY 5: AZIB N TAMSOULT - TIZI AGELZIM - TOUBKAL REFUGE

Today is a pretty strenuous ascent out of the Azzadene Valley over the Ighouliden waterfalls to the Toubkal Refuge via the 3,560m Aguelzim Mountain pass. Lunch will be served overlooking the Atlas Mountain Range. Overnight in the Toubkal Refuge (Niltner Hut), where you will most likely share a bunk room with other hikers attempting Toubkal the following morning.

DAY 6: TOUBKAL REFUGE - TOUBKAL SUMMIT - TOUBKAL REFUGE - IMLIL - MARRAKECH

Early start for the ascent to Toubkal (4,167m), from where, clouds permitting, you'll have spectacular views across the Atlas Mountains and Sahara Desert. The descent will be long, passing the refuge and following the well-worn trail back to Imlil. This is a rather lengthy day, requiring 8-9 hours of trekking to ascend 900m and then descend over 2,500m to Imlil! You will generally be dropped off in Marrakech about 5pm.End of our 6-Day Berber Villages Trek.
